Getting Started
- Marinate Effectively: For deeper flavor, marinate proteins or dense vegetables in balsamic vinegar for at least 30 minutes, or up to 4 hours in the refrigerator. The acid in balsamic also tenderizes.
- Prevent Burning Glaze: Balsamic vinegar contains sugar, which can burn. To prevent this, either reduce the balsamic separately on the stovetop to a glaze and brush on during the last 3-5 minutes of air frying, or brush it on only for the final cooking stage.
- Ensure Even Cooking: Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket. Cook in a single layer, ensuring air circulates. For vegetables and smaller pieces, shake the basket halfway through cooking for uniform crisping.
- Clean Up Easily: After cooking sticky glazes, deglaze the air fryer basket with hot water and a little dish soap immediately after it cools slightly. This prevents balsamic residue from hardening and becoming difficult to remove.
