Getting Started
- For bulgur-based patties or kofta, ensure the bulgur is properly hydrated and the mixture is firm. Too much moisture leads to crumbling; too little makes it dry. A binder like egg or flax egg helps.
- When air frying protein alongside bulgur (e.g., salmon), cook the protein at 190°C (375°F) for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway, to achieve a crisp exterior and moist interior. Prepare the bulgur salad concurrently.
- To prevent sticking and promote even browning for bulgur patties or stuffed items, lightly mist the air fryer basket and the food surface with olive oil spray. Do not overcrowd the basket.
- For stuffed vegetables, pre-cook the bulgur and any ground meat filling before stuffing. This ensures the filling is cooked through and the vegetables soften without becoming mushy during the 20-25 minutes at 180°C (350°F) in the air fryer.
